Release of 'Wall Street' sequel delayed
    Philippine Times
    Friday 12th March, 2010
    (IANS)

The release date of director Oliver Stone's 'Wall Street: Money Never Sleep', which is a sequel to the film released in 1987, has been pushed back from April to September.

The film, which was scheduled for an April 23 release in the US, is now expected to hit screens Sep 24, reports independent.co.uk.

The original starring Michael Douglas and Charlie Sheen was about an impatient stockbroker (Sheen) ready to do anything to be at the top.

The sequel titled 'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps', which is hitting screens after 23 years, will show Douglas's character Gordon Gekko attempting to warn Wall Street about the collapse of the financial system.

Producer and Douglas feel the timing of the movie was good because of the recent economic crisis.

'There was a recession when the first movie arrived in 1987. There's a recession now,' femalefirst.com quoted Douglas as saying.

The sequel also stars Carey Mulligan, Shia LaBeouf and Charlie Sheen.
